FAQ

I'm having trouble locking/unlocking my unit, what should I do?

In order to compress the seal at the bottom of the door, you have to step on the handle below the latch.  It might take a little more effort than you think is necessary, but it should compress enough so that you can slide the latch in or out of the door frame.

How do I cancel my lease?

Simply call us at (715) 255-6933, to let us know when you are ready to move out.  When you call, inform the agent of your unit number, name, and move out date.  Rent will not be refunded or prorated if you move out before the last day of the month.  See Wisconsin State Statute 704.19(3) for more details.

How do I keep my items dry and mold/mildew free?

In warm humid months the moisture in the air will condensate on the cold concrete floor.  If you have items on the floor that can soak up the water (cardboard boxes, furniture, etc) mold and mildew may grow, and moisture may wick up and damage property.  To prevent this, make sure to store items that should not get wet above the floor on pallets/wood strips.  Storing on concrete blocks also helps to prevent moisture damage.  We also recommend that you place items in sealed plastic containers, or wrap items in air tight plastic wrap.  Also, if you place wet or damp items in storage, they may not dry out.  It is not recommended to move in the rain where items can pick up moisture before being placed in the unit.

Do I have to rent a unit for a fixed amount of time?

Our leases are month to month.  When you first sign the lease, you will pay a prorated amount for the current month, and the entire amount for the next month.  After that, your monthly rent is due on the 1st of every month.

Do you require a security deposit or have any fees?

We have a security deposit that is equal to one months rent.  The deposit will be returned the month following your move out.  There are no additional regular adminstration fees.

When is my rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of the month and must be set up for auto-pay.

Do I need my own lock?

Yes.  We recommend that you use a high quality disc lock.
